The Food Locker & BAGS Program

Each month, over 600 local families and 780 individuals receive supplemental groceries from the St. Vincent de Paul food locker.  Among the clients are poor working families with children, seniors (many of whom are widowed), laid off workers and the physically and mentally disabled.  No one is turned away.

At St. Vincent de Paul’s food locker, each household is allowed to come in for groceries once every 30 days.  On that day, single individuals receive four bags of food- breads, staples, vegetables, and meat.  Families with children are given and extra bag of food when available and sometimes something special, like a birthday cake or turkey!

Where does all the food come from?  Throughout the week, volunteers go out to local retail stores and organizations to pick up donations.  Others sort, bag and distribute the food at our Giuseppe Ct. location.  Still more volunteers deliver groceries to local homebound, fixed income seniors on a monthly basis.

For our neediest neighbors, St. Vincent de Paul’s food locker and BAGS programs make the difference between having enough to eat and going hungry.

“For when I was hungry and you gave me food...”
